I. Pre-Installation Considerations
Confirm Vehicle Load Capacity
- Static Load: Most sedans/SUVs support static roof load over 200kg, enough for the tent plus occupants.
- Dynamic Load: Tent weight cannot exceed the dynamic load limit of roof crossbars (usually 70–100kg).
Select Suitable Crossbar System
- Adopt reliable, high-strength roof rack crossbars (factory decorative strips are NOT acceptable).
- Crossbars shall perfectly match the tent base rails and stay stable after mounting.
Check Tent-to-Vehicle Fit
- Avoid excessive tent overhang off the roof to cut wind resistance & safety hazards.
- Pick tents with proper sizes and opening styles (side / rear / foldable) for SUVs, pickups and sedans.
II. Installation Guidelines

III. Daily Usage Tips
- Regularly inspect fasteners: Check screws between crossbars and tent before long-distance trips for looseness.
- Avoid long exposure under strong sun or heavy rain: UV and rain speed up fabric aging. Reapply waterproof coating or use sunshades regularly.
- Keep safe when entering & exiting: Make sure the ladder is stable, especially for elders and kids to prevent slips.
- Close sunroof & windows: If the tent connects to the sunroof, seal car windows to keep bugs and rain out.
IV. Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean tent surface after every trip: Wipe off dust, fallen leaves and water stains to extend fabric service life.
- Fully dry before storage: Never pack wet tent for long-term storage. Air dry thoroughly after camping to avoid mildew.
